We have a herd of over 40 horses of all shapes, sizes and colours. Walk among them... touch them... smell them... explore the surrounding plateau country and river vallley or the North Taranaki coastline upon their backs....
The team at Okau has created an environment where people of all ages, from any place, whatever their style can have a memorable experience. Enjoy panoramic views, bush lined tracks, native flora and fauna, and river crossings on a ride tailored to suit your needs. We will ride at your pace starting on our plateau farm and then heading down into the river valley for a play in the water.
Your trip begins with a 4-wheel motorbike ride up our unsealed driveway to our tableland. Have a cup of coffee or tea as you feast your eyes on views of the surrounding plateau country. Watch our large herd of horses gallop into the home paddock where we handpick your horse to suit your needs.
There is a chance to gallop up the hills (a safe time for beginners to experience the thrill of speed on a horse!) and then finish with a wind down cuppa after we have unsaddled the horses. We will take you back to your car on the 4-wheeler.
